At OneAdvocate, my mission is to empower students and families to navigate the complexities of public, private, and charter Tier II and Tier III (Special Education) supports and services. I believe that every child deserves an advocate and the opportunity to succeed and thrive educationally, regardless of label or placement. I believe every school and district needs an Education Consultant to help help them design, plan, implement, and sustain effective and efficient systems of support to prevent over-identification, high school drop-outs, and dismal post secondary outcomes.
The passion to stand up for those who lack power has been a guiding force throughout my life. It began with volunteering as a teenager in small-town Texas, helping children and seniors with disabilities. After studying at the University of Texas, that passion for justice grew into citizen advocacy for families in Austin, centered on issues of child safety. However, it was in a special needs classroom that my journey truly began. The moment I became a teacher, everything clicked. I found the perfect way to use my head and my heart to serve students. After 26 years in public education, I am now a veteran special education teacher and interventionist ready to dedicate my expertise to your family. I am here to be your partner, bringing my experience and unwavering passion to help your child thrive. Hope to meet soon! ~Ann
